Commissioned by Escape to New York, a music festival featuring A-List acts such as Patti Smith and Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, Octopolis was two "waves" cresting over each other made out of tessellating octagons and squares. Markers were handed out and the project became a canvass for thousands of festival attendees.
The project was donated to Shinnecock Reservation on which the festival was held and where it continues to live today.
